For 3 weeks now I've been trying to make a decision. I finally made it and I'm doing it today. I'm selling my sports car. I love it. And I have had the best summer driving around in that puppy with my hair blowing and the radio playing but, in the end, it's too fancy and too expensive for me.

I started thinking about how, we'd be making payments on a car I can only drive in good weather. And then I started thinkin about who I am. Let's face it guys, I am not a fancy car person. I'm an eat in my car, haul my dog, jeans and dirty sneakers kinda gal.

So I'm selling her today. And with the money I'm buying something that I feel is way more me. It will be completely paid for (YES!) and I imagine I'll have more fun in it because it will be like a pair of comfortable old socks that fit my feet better. Can you guess what it is? Milky got it on the 3rd try. (which frankly scares the pee outa me. She knows me way too well)

GOOD BYE, BEAUTY! I HAD A BLAST. BUT I GOTTA BE ME. YADDA YADDA.

I sold my truck because of gas and maint cost. I bought this little sedan, and its been a great little car, but I so miss my truck. I am trying to sell my little car now to buy another truck. Sheesh I have my wife completly confussed. She thinks I am headed for a mid-life crash or something..I/O

Tina, I wish I could say I don't get the summer car thing but after driving that convertable all summer, I have to tell you it is the most fun I ever had in a car! But in the end, I'm a haul here, haul it there gal who hides twizzlers in her cubby holes. LOL!

Denny, I agree. Paid for is soooo sweet. Plus, the one I'm getting gets awesome gas mileage and the resale is second best in the market today. Can't beat that.

Houston, I feel your pain, my friend. Poor Bob. I think he's scratched a permanant hole in his head trying to figure me out with these cars. BTW, our car dealer loaned me one of their trucks awhile back so I could haul some stuff (cause you can't in a sports car) and I LOVED that truck!

It's going to be an old lady Volvo, right?

Will it make toast?

At 10/09/2006 1:59 PM, Blogger barman

What about the cup holders?

I could see you in one of those pickup trucks that you would have to climb WAY UP to get into it. Somehow that would just seem the match. Of course resale and gas millage. Well the Toyta Tundra is worth more after 3 years than when you bought it... I would have to guess truck somewhere. Got to make sure you have some sort of shit kicking boots to go with the vehicle.

A jeep?

At 10/09/2006 2:10 PM, Blogger Crabby

Tina, you are supposed to be guessing. If I tell, it will totally ruin my good time. LOL! However, I did get a call and I now know what color it is. WOOT!

Sal??? Is that really you?

Milky, will you stop dropping hints to folks! LMAO! Volvo. PAH! My new car is far more cool than that. And best part of all, she's cheap. I like cheap. Cheap is good.

Barman, I do so love the trucks after driving one for a day. But nope, that's not what I ended up with. You know those cupholders are mega important to me. The sports cars cup holders bit. crappy little things. The one I'm getting could be better cuz it sits on the floor. But...it will hold a big gulp if I need it to. Plus, I get to individualize this particular car. Just think of it.....a car made into what ever I want. Ahhhh. The possibilities.

Waygon, good guess cuz a jeep was high on my list. they have the best red out there. But I didn't get anything thing that conventional. LOL! What I have, ya either like, or ya hate it. That's my first hint.

` I'm surprised you never mentioned this car before. It's so sexy! I agree - you should do some kind of HNT thing with it.

` I'm happy to have my Burgundy Rectangle (so called because that's what it looks like from space)... despite the fact that it's had problems that make it dangerous to drive.

Seequin, you have much to learn grasshopper. Cars are nice looking or fun. DQ cones with extra sprinkles....now THAT is sexy!

Ignore Iris, dear. The last thing she needs is a car. She can't drive you see. Her sagging tits get tangled in the steering wheel.

Barman, DING DING DING! We have a winner. A Scion Xb is what I got. Nice job!

Still waiting to find out when it will be here. I've been nervous as bullfighter with an untied shoelace all day.

I only got 3 options added. A radio/cd player that changes colors, red LED lights on my pedals and cupholders and I got floor mats cause Bob insisted.

Basically, it's a toaster on wheels with red lights inside.

At 10/09/2006 4:52 PM, Blogger SignGurl

LMAO at a toaster on wheels with red lights. Bwahahahaha!!!

At 10/09/2006 5:48 PM, Blogger barman

I got it faster then MilkMaid ... then again she probably did not have hints.

I posted about that car on my blog way back in June. What took you so long? So I guess that would make you Mary Ann.

` I don't care how reasonable they are, I still have the uncontrollable urge to laugh at Scions.

At 10/10/2006 3:45 AM, Blogger Suze

I love that car but I can see your point. Crabby what is the new car?

At 10/10/2006 5:23 AM, Blogger MilkMaid

They are the ugliest brinks truck looking trucks out there. Little Kid and I laugh EVERY time we see one LOL!

I still can't convience Little Kid you are trading your SICK PORCHE for a brinks truck. He just won't believe it. Refuses.

At 10/10/2006 5:24 AM, Blogger MilkMaid

A true SHORT BUS ahahahahahaha!

I like my toast a little dark with blackberry jam please.

At 10/10/2006 5:26 AM, Blogger MilkMaid

Toast is for titty babies.

Give me grits.

At 10/10/2006 5:47 AM, Blogger Crabby

Sign, I have a feeling that toaster on wheels is the first of many jokes to come about my new baby. LMAO!

Barman, you did? I can't wait to see what you had to say. I'll click the link soon as I finish yakkin here.

Tina, first time I saw them they had 5 or 6 black ones lined up in a row and all I could think of were those old Elliot Ness movies. The black ones sooo look like gangster cars.

Your MIL puts rugs on the floor in a caddy? ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ha ha ha! Does she have a glade air freshner in the back window?

Seequin! Now you behave, missy! You can't laugh at my new adoptee until she gets here. And then you have to wait your turn cuz, Milky is outa control on this one. I'm gonna drive down to Texas to break the new baby in and force Milky and little kid to ride in it. LMAO! A ride in the short bus will fix em.

Suze, it's a Scion Xb. I think it will be red but I'm waiting for it to get here to find out. Only thing I know for sure is, this is the beginning of many, many, jokes. LOL!

Milky, I need to break the short bus in, I'll be coming to pick you and little kid up so we can ride around and you guys can show her off to all your friends. (she thinks I'm kidding) bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ha ha ha ha!

Ruby, move to the back of the bus. And make room for Sam Elliot. He LUVS my new car. Told me so, yesterday.

Ethel,....oh hell. I can't even look at Ethel without crackin up. It's too early for this. I'm getting coffee.

it takes big cajones to admit that you're not a fancy car person ... congrats!!

and now ... onto the Kia dealership!

At 10/10/2006 6:13 AM, Blogger DZER

ooh! I so want an xB!

At 10/10/2006 6:17 AM, Blogger barman

It has been a while since I fist saw these vehicles and they have grown on me. I could see myself owning one. Short Bus ... Toaster ... oh my, you are in for a ton of ribbing.

At 10/10/2006 7:17 AM, Blogger Crabby

Dzer, that cars rocks out. It's huge inside. tons of headroom. All the seats lay down so if you want to haul wood or something big you can. The gas mileage is exceptional and they resell for almost as much as you pay for them new. Far as practical goes, you can't beat it.

Barman, even here, I'm getting it pretty good and the car hasn't even gotten here yet. LOL!

Tina, I love Toyotas. They rock out on gas and this particular car drives like a toy. It looks ackward but when you get in, you neither climb up or down. Lots of fun to drive. with no extra gadgets to cloud the pricing. I ordered the upgrade radio/cd because that's all I care about as far as gizmos. So I got off really cheap.

At 10/10/2006 8:01 AM, Blogger MilkMaid

Peanut butter is really good on toast

At 10/10/2006 9:36 AM, Blogger Roxi

I mourn for you but also rejoice in that it sounds like your decision is best for you.

Good bye sweet, hot car!

At 10/10/2006 1:38 PM, Blogger Crabby

Milky, I'm gonna butter up your head if you don't quit pokin fun at my car. (somebody get the butter cuz there's no way in hell she's gonna stop now that she's got her game on. LOL!)

Rox, I know. Would you believe I actually thought of you when I was making the decision? But...good news is, this car is all paid for in full, gets kick ass gas mileage so....we have more money to have fun with. Not a bad deal.

Kept, I'm doing a little mourning myself over here. The new car will be arrive at the Toy Barn any time now. So I keep going in and looking at my one and only sportscar. She sure was fun over the summer. I really loved that car. But we will save soooo much money without the car payments and the higher insurance. and this little car coming in is so much more me. I always felt like kind of a show off in that one. Let's face it I'm a grunt. Always been a grunt. Always gonna be a grunt. And I like it like that. :)

At 10/10/2006 1:38 PM, Blogger MilkMaid

Toast is good with afternoon tea.

At 10/10/2006 1:42 PM, Blogger MilkMaid

The weather is still TOASTy down here in the south.

At 10/10/2006 1:42 PM, Blogger MilkMaid

I may get TOASTed this weekend, if I can get that bottle out from between Sven's legs.

At 10/10/2006 1:42 PM, Blogger MilkMaid

Do you like TOASTer strudel?

At 10/10/2006 1:43 PM, Blogger MilkMaid

So..what color is this toaster gonna be?

Light?

Medium?

Dark?

At 10/10/2006 1:44 PM, Blogger MilkMaid

SHORT BUS!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAaaaaa.....hee hee hee!

At 10/10/2006 2:00 PM, Blogger MilkMaid

You got me to thinking...maybe I could trade my Harley in on one of these toaster things.

At 10/10/2006 2:00 PM, Blogger MilkMaid

NOT!

ahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

You're buying a poncho?

At 10/10/2006 2:46 PM, Blogger Crabby

C'mere, Milky. Little closer. Noooo. Don't run away. I'm not gonna hurt ya....much.
GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW, MISSY!

Zen, a poncho? LOL! That's a new one. I can always trust you to come up with original stuff.

I am dying over here guys. You have no idea the ribbing I'm getting from B Bob over this car. It's gonna be red. he hates the red.

I planned on blue or black but when the guy called and said, "I found a red one and a blue one, which do you want?" Red just popped outa my mouth. Even bad reds attact me like moths to a flame...crows to shiny. I can't help myself. So irridescent red it is.

And now the jokes here in the house have begun. Ay yi yi!

At 10/10/2006 4:07 PM, Blogger Roxi

crabby- as long as I get a ride and a drink and an ice cream cone.. tahts all I require.

At 10/10/2006 10:59 PM, Blogger barman

Roxi, if you live right she will take you to DQ!

At 10/11/2006 7:39 AM, Blogger Crabby

Roxi, we are gonna rock out. Wait'll you see these pics! LOL! My radio changes colors. And the foot pedals, passenger side floor and cup holders light up red. The sound system is the best I've ever heard in a car. I upgraded that. I know I'll take heat over thinking red lights and radio that changes color are important but, what the heck? I can live with it. LOL!

Barman, DQ is sooo in Roxi's future. She's too cute to say no to. LOL! I thought about adopting her but decided to get a car instead.

LB, is it hard to talk with those puckered up lips? I bet it is, huh?

Here, say this...peter piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
