My summer of grunt torture began here. These are some of the before pics I have. I'm not gonna write a bunch of junk cuz you can look at the pics and pretty much figure what we did.

In addition to the crap you see we also had to do some rewiring, repair damaged floors that were covered up by previous owners...the usual stuff you inherit with old houses.

That stainless stove ya see there was over 100 degrees too hot in temperature one day and then it would be 50 under the next. LOL!

Heeeere's after. I had to take pics at night cuz our days have been bonkers. So the colors will be a tiny bit off. Note the fancy/schmancy design we came up with for the floor? LOL! We oozin' with class.

Also note my friendship sign holds a place of honor right over the stove. It says: A good friend will bail you out of jail. A true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn, that was fun."

I don't think the paint matches, you need to think about redoing that.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....you know I think you are the queen of DIY, FABU job.

The table is really really nice, have you guys missed the bigger table from before much?

Barman, my brother, I thank you and my over large DQ butt thanks you too. This month is pumpkin pie blizzards, you know.

PS. The panel over the microwave is held on with magnets so it's like a secret space we can hide things in. How cool is that?

Jodes! Hi, kiddo. Thank you and Happy Halloween back. We spent a fair amount of time this morning listening to a guy tell us it's a pagan holiday that teaches kids about demons and witches. OY! gimme a break! Some kids go as sponge bob. Soon as I get my witch hat dusted and find my light up nose, I am soooo going back there to have a talk with that guy.

Milky! That's not even funny! LOL!
but guess what? And this is gonna make you cry. Sit down. I have to competely redo that breezeway off the kitchen cuz the textured walls???? are friggin painted over paper! why or why don't folks just do things right the first time? I had no idea it was paper. I think it's probably been painted over lots. You can shoot me now.

Very nice tile job, my father is a professional and I wanted that design in my kitchen and the grumpy old bastard wouldn't do it. But then again I got a free professional installation and free tile so I should shutthefuckup and be greatful.

VERY, VERY nice.

Deb, free installation??? ooooo, if only. The grouting alone near did me in. And we have two more floors to do still. But.....not till I get a break. LOL!

Tina.....but...that IS a wall phone. See? It's on the wall and everything. ya can't call anybody on it and ya can't really answer it cuz....it doesn't ring but....HEY! That....is my kinda phone.

Pssst, you guy's. Don't let her convince you that our annual Thanksgiving day fire was the stove's fault. LOL

Manny, it is the stoves, I tell you! None of them work right. It's this new fangled technology.

Twanda, what color? Colors are like...really important to me.

Deb! NO! Can you hear voices in it? Mine sounds like the sea.

Well, it's called BETTER Homes & Gardens, and it's better than MY HOME, so I guess it should be in it.

(If it was called BEST Homes & Gardens, I think the penthouse suite at the Waldorf would edge you out a little bit...)

are the cabinets refaced or did you just paint them?

At 11/01/2006 7:45 AM, Blogger barman

Hey if the fires are turkey fires, maybe you can turn that over to the men folk to fry a turkey. If there is a fire it will be outside, no biggy.

It's beautiful! When can i move in?

` Nice!! Beautiful floor, nice little table so you can see it!
` ...You know what's sad, though? I totally want the 'before!' My ghetto apartment is only marginally ghetto-fab.

` Hope you get the cord - generally those can be found at RadioShak.
` And as for the stove, I hope the new one works better than the old one. I know someone who had an oven that changed temperature every few minutes. Amazingly, someone actually made a souffle in it by constantly checking the temperature with a thermometer!

It's funny looking at your green...remember when you VERY FIRST bought this house, celery green was your first paint choice and you immediately covered that up with the red.

Goes around comes around...

Wow, great job! I LOVE the floor.

Aw. I'm sorry. I didn't see you guys had posted down here. I'm currently on an anti-holiday roll and sooooo totally goin with it. LOL!

But thank you! I do appreciate you guys and sure didn't mean to ignore anybody.

Unfortunately Bob didn't really cancel the Appraiser. Just said he did to make me feel less pressured. What it did was, gave me an opportunity to screw off so now I'm more pressed for time than before. LOL! OY!

Soon as I get this out of the way, I am quitting the home improvement game and I am blogging. I'm tired of all this stuff now. And it's boring to paint and sand and grout for hours and hours. I need play time.

Well I just LOVE the chandalier and chairs together, great job on the floor too....ya'll done good!!!
